Our Ten-Year Anniversary Campaign!

Support Our
10 for 10 Campaign

Ten years ago, gamelan came to Buffalo. What started as a handful of musicians gathering around a set of village instruments has grown into Nusantara Arts — an organization with two complete gamelan traditions, a Balinese dance program, free community classes, an afterschool partnership, and an annual roster of performances that bring Indonesian arts to thousands of people across Western New York.

Our goal: $10,000 by October — the tenth month — to sustain our community gamelan program for the year ahead.

Our free and low-cost community classes are the heart of what we do. They're how new players first encounter gamelan, how the music stays a living communal practice rather than a museum piece, and how we keep our doors open to anyone in Buffalo who wants to learn. Your gift directly funds instructor stipends, instrument maintenance, rehearsal space, and the open beginner sessions that keep this music growing.

Our programs have changed countless lives. We’ve seen students walk in shy or uncertain, and walk out glowing with confidence and connection. We’ve watched immigrants rediscover cultural pride, musicians find new creative homes, and families learn together across generations.

That’s why this year’s campaign is so important, especially now.

Please join us in making The cultural arts in Buffalo more vibrant and accessible with a donation today!

With love and gratitude,
