For the first very time, Nusantara Arts steps outside the city, inviting you to an evening of Javanese gamelan on a private estate just 20 minutes from Buffalo and 10 from East Aurora. The gong orchestra gathers beneath a grand open-air pavilion with open fields and the fall sky as a backdrop. This is a klenengan, the intimate listening tradition of central Java, unfolding how it would in Indonesia: outdoors, in the night air, over the course of a full cycle of music that carries the evening and mood from dusk into the late hours.

Program highlights:
Joining the Nusantara Arts ensemble are two distinguished guest artists, singer Heni Savitri and master musician Midiyanto, who bring a level of calm beauty to this event. This is a long event meant to be enjoyed leisurely. Come when you want, not necessarily right at the start, and settle in. Or come late! Add on a Javanese dinner food box prepared by a local Indonesian chef to make it a full night out. It's both a concert and a gathering, and totally unhurried, a beautiful way to spend an evening in fall. Enjoy this rare chance to hear gamelan music breathe in the open, far from any stage.
